cratered
Pitted by impacts
Cratered describes a surface marked with craters—bowl-shaped depressions typically formed by impacts or explosions, as on the moon or a battlefield.
In informal usage, cratered means collapsed or failed dramatically: The stock cratered after the earnings report; My energy cratered around 3 p.m.
Someone who is cratered may also be extremely drunk or exhausted.
The word functions as both the past tense of the verb crater and as an adjective describing pitted surfaces.
