coed

Not single-sex

Coed (also co-ed) describes something involving both sexes together, especially in education: a coed dormitory, the school went coed in 1975.

As a noun, coed is a dated term for a female college student, from when women were the newcomers to previously all-male institutions.

The noun now sounds quaint or condescending.
