mixed schools
Boys and girls
Mixed schools are educational institutions that enroll both male and female students together, as opposed to single-sex schools.
The term appears most often in contexts where coeducation isn't the default assumption—historical discussions, religious communities, or regions where separate schooling remains common: The village finally opened mixed schools in the 1960s.
