coeducational

Gender-integrated schooling system

Coeducational describes schools or programs that teach males and females together.

The term emerged when educating the sexes jointly was novel enough to need a name: a coeducational college, coeducational dormitories.

Often shortened to coed.

The noun coed once meant a female student at such an institution but now sounds dated.
