Hollow twisted noodles
Cavatappi is a spiral-shaped pasta, hollow through the center like a corkscrew.
The name comes from Italian for "corkscrew." The ridged surface and tubular shape hold thick sauces well: I made cavatappi with vodka sauce.
It works in baked dishes, pasta salads, and macaroni and cheese.
