cane
Hit with stick
A cane is a stick used as a walking aid or a weapon for striking.
Walking canes are usually slender with a curved handle; disciplinary canes are used to beat someone: The headmaster gave him six strokes of the cane.
Cane also refers to the woody stems of certain plants—sugarcane, bamboo, rattan—and products made from them: a cane chair, cane sugar.
To cane someone is to strike them with a cane as punishment.
