Sturdy pack animal
A burro is a small donkey, especially one used as a pack animal in the southwestern United States and Mexico.
The word is Spanish for donkey.
Wild burros descended from escaped or released animals roam parts of the American West: We saw burros along the trail in the Grand Canyon.
