burdens

Weights one carries

Burdens is the plural of burden—heavy loads carried physically or figuratively.

Physical burdens are things you haul: The donkeys carried their burdens up the mountain.

Figurative burdens are responsibilities, worries, or hardships that weigh on someone: the burdens of parenthood, financial burdens.

To burden someone is to load them down: I don't want to burden you with my problems.
