bubblers

Water fountain dispensers

Bubblers are drinking fountains—the word is regional, used mainly in Wisconsin, eastern Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.

The term comes from the way water bubbles up from the spout.

In other contexts, a bubbler is any device that produces bubbles: an aquarium bubbler aerates the tank, and in cannabis culture, a bubbler is a small water pipe that filters smoke through water.
