glory hole
Kiln's reheating port
A glory hole has several unrelated meanings.
In glassblowing, it's an opening in a furnace used to reheat glass while shaping it.
In mining and industry, it's a vertical shaft or pit.
In vulgar slang, a glory hole is a hole cut in a partition—typically in a public restroom or sex venue—through which anonymous sexual acts are performed: The bathroom stall had a glory hole drilled through the wall.
