microirrigation
Targeted crop watering
Microirrigation is a method of watering crops by delivering small, precise amounts of water directly to plant roots through a network of tubes, emitters, or drippers.
The technique conserves water and reduces runoff compared to flood or sprinkler systems: The vineyard switched to microirrigation during the drought.
Also called drip irrigation or trickle irrigation.
