breaststroke

Symmetrical pool technique

Breaststroke is a swimming stroke performed face-down, with the arms pushing forward together then sweeping outward while the legs execute a frog-like kick.

It's the slowest of the competitive strokes but often the first taught to beginners: She prefers breaststroke because she can keep her head above water.
