bourbon chicken
Sweet glazed poultry
Bourbon chicken is a Chinese-American dish of dark meat chicken glazed in a sweet, sticky sauce made with soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, and garlic.
Despite the name, many recipes contain no bourbon whiskey—the dish is named for Bourbon Street in New Orleans, where it originated in the 1970s.
It's a staple of mall food courts and steam-table Chinese restaurants: I grabbed some bourbon chicken from the food court.
