straight bourbon
Unblended corn spirit
Straight bourbon is bourbon whiskey that meets additional aging and purity requirements beyond basic bourbon: aged at least two years in new charred oak barrels, with no added coloring, flavoring, or other spirits.
The "straight" designation signals a higher standard of authenticity: I'll have a straight bourbon, neat.
If aged less than four years, the label must state the age.
