Bardstown

Kentucky whiskey town

Bardstown is a small city in central Kentucky, the seat of Nelson County.

It is known as the "Bourbon Capital of the World" for its concentration of whiskey distilleries, including Maker's Mark and Heaven Hill.

The town's historic downtown and Federal Hill mansion—said to have inspired Stephen Foster's "My Old Kentucky Home"—draw tourists to the region.
