blackspots
Areas of discoloration
Blackspots are areas or locations known for particular problems—especially road accidents or crime.
A stretch of highway with frequent collisions is a blackspot; so is a neighborhood with high burglary rates: Police identified several crime blackspots in the city center.
The term is more common in British than American English.
In horticulture, blackspot is a fungal disease affecting roses.
