battlestation

Armed crew position

A battlestation is a designated position where someone performs focused work, typically a desk setup with computer, monitors, and peripherals.

The term comes from naval usage—a sailor's assigned post during combat—but now appears mainly in gaming and tech communities to describe elaborate home computer configurations: Check out my new battlestation.

The word carries a note of pride in one's equipment.
