bar magnet
Iron filings attractor
A bar magnet is a rectangular piece of magnetized metal with a north pole at one end and a south pole at the other.
It's the classic form used in science classrooms to demonstrate magnetic attraction and repulsion: The bar magnet pulled the iron filings into curved lines revealing the magnetic field.
