Starts without prompting
Autorun is a feature that automatically executes a program or script when a device is connected or media is inserted—originally CDs launching installation wizards, now USB drives or memory cards triggering software.
The feature became a security concern as malware exploited it to spread: Disable autorun on USB ports.
Also used as a verb: The installer autoruns when you insert the disc.
