autografted
Own tissue relocated
Autografted describes tissue that has been transplanted from one part of a person's body to another part of the same person.
Skin is the most commonly autografted tissue—surgeons harvest it from an uninjured area to cover burns or wounds elsewhere: The autografted skin took well and began healing within days.
The prefix auto- distinguishes this from allografts (tissue from another person) or xenografts (tissue from another species).
