armed
Carrying a gun
Armed means carrying weapons or equipped for combat: armed guards, armed robbery, the armed forces.
The word extends to anything equipped with a particular feature: armed with the facts, armed with a good lawyer.
Something with arms in the anatomical sense can also be armed: a chair with armed rests.
The opposite is unarmed.
