arborvitae
Privacy screen tree
Arborvitae is an evergreen tree or shrub of the cypress family, native to North America and East Asia, commonly planted as ornamental hedges and privacy screens.
The name comes from Latin meaning "tree of life," likely referencing the plant's medicinal uses or its year-round greenery.
The foliage consists of flat, scale-like leaves arranged in fan-shaped sprays.
We planted a row of arborvitae along the property line.
