daylily
One-morning flower perennial
A daylily is a flowering plant with long, slender leaves and trumpet-shaped blooms that each last only a single day.
Despite the name, daylilies are not true lilies.
They grow in clumps and produce multiple flowers on tall stalks, blooming successively through the season: The daylilies along the fence are finally opening.
