agenesis
Missing body part
Agenesis is the failure of an organ or body part to develop during embryonic growth.
The term appears in medical contexts describing congenital absence: renal agenesis (missing kidney), dental agenesis (missing teeth).
Unlike atrophy, where tissue wastes away, agenesis means the structure never formed at all.
