red cell
Hemoglobin's home vessel
A red cell is a red blood cell—the disc-shaped cells that carry oxygen through the bloodstream via hemoglobin.
Also called erythrocytes, they give blood its color.
In military and security contexts, a red cell is a team that simulates enemy attacks to test defenses: The red cell found vulnerabilities in our network security.
