anaglyph

Red-blue depth picture

An anaglyph is an image designed to create a three-dimensional effect when viewed through glasses with differently colored lenses, typically red and cyan.

The technique works by presenting slightly offset images to each eye: Those old 3D movies used anaglyphs.

The term also applies to relief carvings or ornaments with figures projecting from the surface.
