Aerial fire suppressor
An air tanker is an aircraft designed to drop water or fire retardant on wildfires.
These planes—often converted military aircraft or purpose-built tankers—can deliver thousands of gallons in a single pass: Air tankers attacked the blaze while ground crews cut firebreaks.
The term also applies to aircraft that refuel other planes mid-flight.
