USB modem

Plug-in connectivity device

A USB modem is a device that plugs into a computer's USB port to provide internet connectivity, typically through cellular networks.

Unlike traditional modems that connect via phone lines, USB modems contain a SIM card and access mobile data: I use a USB modem when traveling since hotel WiFi is unreliable.

Also called a dongle or mobile broadband stick.
