prepaid plan
Pay-before-use arrangement
A prepaid plan is a service arrangement—typically for mobile phones—where you pay in advance for a set amount of usage rather than receiving a monthly bill afterward.
You buy credit or a fixed bundle of minutes, texts, and data, then use it until it runs out: I switched to a prepaid plan to avoid surprise charges.
The opposite is a postpaid or contract plan.
