The Pogues

The Pogues were an Irish-British band formed in London in 1982, known for blending traditional Irish folk music with punk rock energy.

Their raucous sound featured tin whistles, accordion, and banjo alongside electric guitars.

The band is best remembered for "Fairytale of New York," a bittersweet Christmas duet that has become a holiday staple: Every December, someone plays The Pogues.
