Sade
Smooth jazz vocalist
Sade is the stage name of Nigerian-British singer Helen Folasade Adu, known for her smooth jazz and soul vocals with the band of the same name: I've been listening to Sade all morning.
The band defined a sophisticated sound in the 1980s with hits like "Smooth Operator." Pronounced shah-DAY. (The Marquis de Sade was an 18th-century French nobleman whose name gave us sadism.)
