Sex Pistols

Anarchy band, British

The Sex Pistols were a British punk rock band formed in London in 1975, credited with igniting the punk movement in the UK.

Despite releasing only one studio album (*Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols*), their aggressive sound, provocative lyrics, and anarchic public behavior made them enormously influential.

The band's brief, chaotic existence—marked by obscenity scandals, banned singles, and the early death of bassist Sid Vicious—became a template for punk's ethos of rebellion and self-destruction.
