Portishead

British electronic trio

Portishead is a British band from Bristol, formed in the early 1990s, whose dark, atmospheric sound helped define trip-hop.

Named after a coastal town near Bristol, the group is known for blending hip-hop beats, jazz samples, and haunting vocals: Dummy remains one of the essential albums of the nineties.

The term sometimes describes music with similar moody, cinematic qualities.
