Doc Martens
Chunky leather footwear
Doc Martens are sturdy leather boots with thick air-cushioned soles, originally workwear that became associated with British punk and youth subcultures in the 1970s and 80s.
The distinctive yellow stitching and grooved sole make them recognizable.
Now mainstream fashion, they remain symbols of countercultural identity: She's worn the same pair of Doc Martens since high school.
Also called Docs or DMs.
