Van Halen

Van Halen was an American rock band formed in 1974, known for Eddie Van Halen's revolutionary guitar techniques and the explosive showmanship of their lead singers, first David Lee Roth and later Sammy Hagar.

The band dominated arena rock through the 1980s with hits like "Jump" and "Panama." Their name sometimes appears as shorthand for a certain era of hard rock excess and virtuosity: That guitar solo was pure Van Halen.
