Temple of Solomon
First holy house
The Temple of Solomon was the first Jewish temple in Jerusalem, built by King Solomon around the 10th century BCE according to biblical accounts.
It housed the Ark of the Covenant and served as the center of Israelite worship until the Babylonians destroyed it in 586 BCE.
Also called the First Temple, it remains central to Jewish religious memory and figures prominently in Freemasonic symbolism and ritual.
