Johnny Rotten
Johnny Rotten is the stage name of John Lydon, lead singer of the Sex Pistols, the British punk band that defined the genre in the late 1970s.
The name came from his poor dental hygiene.
It now serves as shorthand for sneering, anarchic rebellion against mainstream culture: He showed up to the board meeting looking like Johnny Rotten.
