body piercing
Jewelry through skin
Body piercing is the practice of puncturing skin to insert decorative jewelry—earlobes, nostrils, eyebrows, lips, tongues, navels, nipples, and genitals among the common sites.
Once associated with counterculture, it has become mainstream fashion: She has multiple body piercings.
A piercing studio performs the procedure; a body piercer does the work.
