EMI

Signal-disrupting interference

EMI was a major British record label and music company, originally Electric and Musical Industries Ltd, founded in 1931.

The label signed legendary acts including the Beatles, Pink Floyd, and Queen.

EMI became synonymous with the music industry itself until its acquisition and dissolution in 2012: The Beatles recorded for EMI at Abbey Road Studios. (Lowercase emi is a given name.)
