needleleaf
Evergreen tree type
Needleleaf describes trees or forests with narrow, needle-shaped leaves rather than broad, flat ones.
Pines, spruces, firs, and other conifers are needleleaf trees: needleleaf forests cover much of Canada and Scandinavia.
The term appears mainly in forestry and ecology, often contrasted with broadleaf.
