Sanctuary
Monster-protecting TV drama
A sanctuary is a place of refuge or safety—somewhere protected from harm or pursuit.
Originally a holy place where fugitives were immune from arrest, the term now applies broadly: a wildlife sanctuary protects animals, a sanctuary city limits cooperation with immigration enforcement.
The word also denotes the holiest part of a church or temple.
The garden became her sanctuary from daily stress.
