SATA
Serial storage standard
SATA is a computer interface for connecting storage devices like hard drives and solid-state drives to a motherboard.
The acronym stands for Serial ATA, distinguishing it from the older parallel ATA standard it replaced.
SATA cables are narrow and flat, with L-shaped connectors: The drive uses a SATA connection.
Now largely superseded by faster NVMe interfaces in high-performance applications.
