backplane
Module communication board
A backplane is a circuit board that connects other boards or components in a computer or electronic system, providing power and data pathways between them.
Unlike a motherboard, which contains the main processing components, a backplane serves primarily as a connector—slots receive daughter boards that carry the active electronics.
The server chassis uses a backplane to link multiple drive bays.
