Royal Observatory
Meridian line origin
A Royal Observatory is an astronomical research institution established under royal patronage, typically serving as a nation's primary center for celestial observation and timekeeping.
The most famous is the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, in London, which established the Prime Meridian—the zero-degree line of longitude from which all time zones are calculated.
We visited the Royal Observatory and stood on the meridian line.
