Sons of Liberty
Pre-revolutionary American radicals
The Sons of Liberty were colonial American patriots who organized resistance to British rule before the Revolutionary War.
Formed in the 1760s to oppose the Stamp Act, they used protests, boycotts, and sometimes violence—most famously the Boston Tea Party.
The name has been adopted by various later groups claiming patriotic or anti-government causes.
