Probability

Study of randomness

Probability is the likelihood that something will happen, expressed as a ratio or percentage.

In mathematics, probability ranges from 0 (impossible) to 1 (certain).

The word also names the branch of mathematics studying chance: She studied probability and statistics.

More loosely, probability suggests reasonable expectation: In all probability, they've already left.
