Ouija boards
Spirit communication devices
Ouija boards are flat boards marked with letters, numbers, and words like "yes" and "no," used with a moveable pointer (planchette) that participants touch lightly while asking questions.
The pointer supposedly moves to spell out messages from spirits or the subconscious.
Skeptics attribute the movement to the ideomotor effect—unconscious muscle movements.
We pulled out the Ouija board at the sleepover and asked if ghosts were present.
