Northern European
From cold latitudes
Northern European describes people, cultures, languages, or things from the northern part of Europe—typically Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland), the Baltic states, and often the British Isles, Netherlands, and northern Germany.
The term appears in discussions of ancestry, physical characteristics, climate, and cultural traditions: Northern European countries consistently rank high in quality-of-life surveys.
In genetic or anthropological contexts, it often refers to populations with lighter skin, hair, and eyes.
