MoviePass
Cinema membership service
MoviePass was a subscription service that let users see movies in theaters for a monthly fee.
At its peak in 2018, the service offered unlimited films for under ten dollars a month—a model that proved financially unsustainable.
The company became synonymous with startup hubris and spectacular business failure: That pricing strategy is pure MoviePass.
