Megalopolis
Giant city complex
A megalopolis is an extremely large urban region, typically formed when multiple cities and their suburbs expand until they merge into one continuous metropolitan area.
The term often describes the densely populated corridor stretching from Boston to Washington, D.C.: The Northeast megalopolis contains over fifty million people.
More loosely, megalopolis can mean any very large city.
